Love Is A Hunger

 
Love is a hunger
from deep within the soul. 
It's a longing feeling 
that only waits to unfold. 

Magically it envelops your being.
It can't be fought off, 
even with the strongest of meanings.

It is wanted with great desire, 
as the heart starts
to burn with fire. 

It starts as a glow
and ends in a blaze.
Not once do you ever 
see only a haze. 

Only a few 
are blessed with true love.
Sometimes it's right there
you may just need a shove. 

If you have it
hold on to it tight. 
It can be gone like the wind, 
like a thief
in the night.

It you find it you will know. 
If you are lucky,
it won't leave you with a hole.

You may only be left 
with a heart that was torn.
All that shall remain 
is the hunger for more.
