A Single Blade Of Grass
A single blade of grass
Stands to attention
In fields of lush vegetation and green
Gently, swaying side to side
At the mercy of the summer wind
It is taken for granted,
But always seen.
Discolored,
It stands apart from
Its brothers and sisters
A freak in the kingdom of mud.
Moments later
The single blade of grass
Is gone all to fast,
It becomes trampled by the
Oncoming stampeding of
Fantastic footwear and leather boots.
Alone,
It becomes released
From the grasp of its elongated roots.
Separated from its kinsman
It finds it self
discarded and Forgotten
it dies a lonely death.
I guess in many ways
The human race resemble
A Single blade of grass?
We stand to attention
Surrendering our body's
To the harsh elements
Of our dieing planet
And for our sins
We are trampled on by a uncaring
Unsympathetic society.
...Sometimes I wish i was more
then just a single
blade of grass!!
Stands to attention
In fields of lush vegetation and green
Gently, swaying side to side
At the mercy of the summer wind
It is taken for granted,
But always seen.
Discolored,
It stands apart from
Its brothers and sisters
A freak in the kingdom of mud.

Very nicely written, Marcus!
This poem has a calmness and peacefulness at times. Id say a purity to look at things such as a single blade of grass, moved by the wind.
Oh those blades of grass!

Clever writing, you've found
something in which many overlook.
This poem has insight.
From the grasp of its elongated roots.
Separated from its kinsman
It finds it self
discarded and Forgotten
it dies a lonely death.
Very well written.
