Death Portrait
Take the shot whenever
We have forever to wait
Don’t move a muscle
Or bat an eye
So impossible to
The flash captures
A dimmed face of yore
With a painted smile
All dressed up
And nowhere to go
But the most obvious place
It won’t capture the soul
So you can keep it close
All you’ll have is a portrait
Of a lifeless casualty
To hang on your wall
We have forever to wait
Don’t move a muscle
Or bat an eye
So impossible to
The flash captures
A dimmed face of yore
With a painted smile
All dressed up
And nowhere to go
But the most obvious place
It won’t capture the soul
So you can keep it close
All you’ll have is a portrait
Of a lifeless casualty
To hang on your wall
