Food for Thought

Driving a car with a shimmy an shake
Might be known as a lemon
A sour headache.

You might be in a pickle
If you smash a hive
And angry bees swarm out
Sting you alive.

Might a basketball player
Who is thin and tall
Be known as a string bean
Dribbling a ball?

After picking red apples
From beneath a fall sky
If you know how to bake them
It's easy as pie.

If something most difficult
You undertake -
Then make it look easy
It's a piece of cake.

If someone mistakes you
For a person of fame
You might be chopped liver
If you don't know her name.

A wee tiny person
Who plays a good game
Might be known as a peanut
Such is his acclaim.

An actor on Broadway
Opining a scroll
Might be known as a ham
For overplaying his roll.

And last but not least

I might hang my head down
In a moment of shame
If I can't cut the mustard
As a poet of fame.
