Tallboy
This is the poem I wrote for the competition Picture Inspiration
The moonlight glows giving the forest a misty hue,
still water glistens while the grass is wet with dew.
A perfect moment to capture natures beauty,
trees moan and creek as if they are moody.
That is when I caught a glimpse of a strange sight,
a tallboy standing alone and barely upright.
Through the scrutiny of my third eye
I saw that it is worn down and asking “Why?”.
Why leave me here in a place unknown
to struggle against the cold sharps stones.
A misfit in this ordinary scene,
feeling lost with emotion to never be seen.
Moods ranging from amber to envious green
with passion to never be redeemed.
Held within the deepest crevices, where stories are to be untold,
in this unforgiving life, these were the burdens that I uphold.
