My Enemy
I wake up to see you staring back at me,
plotting, waiting, feigning sincerity.
you say "i love you" then why do you still hold that blade?
my faceless foe watches me sink... deeper into my own psychosis.
Each night i resign myself to sleep, defeated, and bloodied.
i see your hands tremble, its grasp slips slowly from the blade.
the only peace i feel now is within the bleak sterile blackness of my dreams.
Your eyes... i still feel them, searing a mark deep within my soul.
all i taste is blood now, that sickly sweet metallic taste,
all i smell is that faint rust like smell.
your will is mine, i know that now... i can not control you, your resolve is too strong... I'll let you win, if only to bring myself peace; in my own scarlet soaked sheets.
