Winters Kiss
Sitting in her nightgown atop the window seal
she wraps herself in the warmth of her covers
and snuggles closely next to the foggy glass
tracing her fingers lightly against its surface
humming a lovely tune
she smiles
letting the salty tears fall down her face
shes listens to the loneliness in her own throaty tune
which only makes her sob harder
closing her eyes she tries to block out the beautiful
image of the snow that falls to the ground kissing the earth
leaving behind a reminder that winter is still here
her head sends images of couples wrapped in innocent embraces
trying to give each other the heat they both want
they both need
touching her fingers to her bottom lips
she imagines the taste of "her" lips
the halo of strawberry blonde hair that would cover her pillows
as she slept
inhaling deeply she try's to get a whiff of her perfume
she left behind but the hours that turned into days left no trace
but a faint reminder of what has been long gone
