Realization
Peace has been ripped away from its suitor.
Was it ever meant to be?
I, the suitor, sit here alone.
Those days I spent with peace,
They seem so long ago.
The cruel punishment I now receive,
Is the absence of peace.
For a crime I did not commit,
A crime that does not exist.
Yet here I am, without peace.
It wasn't worth it, if you ask me,
To have peace for so long,
To know what life is like,
Co-existing with something as serene,
As beautiful as peace,
Only to have it snatched from my grasp.
I now live --sadly enlightened.
Knowing what the absence of peace feels like
Makes life before peace graced me,
Caressed me,
Loved me,
Seem oh so peaceful.
Was it ever meant to be?
I, the suitor, sit here alone.
Those days I spent with peace,
They seem so long ago.
The cruel punishment I now receive,

For a crime I did not commit,
