Cracks In My Sidewalk
Verse 1:
I just feel alone.
The sadness has been lurking.
All that I have known
Has slowly been submerging.
What you'll see on my gravestone.
Is about a happy boy.
But no one understood
Why he cut his life so short.
All I needed was a helping hand.
All I asked for was a care.
What you gave to me instead.
Was what I truly could not bear.
I just needed love
They say it best in Matthew's
"Love your neighbor, as you love yourself."
But I guess my heart was Icy-Blue.
Chorus:
Now there's cracks in the sidewalks!
The sidewalks of my life.
The grass has grown right through
Seeping in as dark as night!
The water under my bridge.
Has been slowly rising since.
Now we've hit the point my friends.
Where we gotta call it quits.
Verse 2:
I find that my mind is like a scythe
I've been dreaming of a killer.
But in my mind it's not a person
That is this kind of chiller.
I see a broken heart
Plastered on the windowsill
Open for the world to see
But looking at it makes me ill.
That right there folks
Don't you cry.
Is what breaks us
And takes the lives.
There ain't no love left for me.
It's going everywhere else.
So I'll just end it all right now.
Before I start some trouble.
Chorus:
Now there's cracks in the sidewalks!
The sidewalks of my life.
The grass has grown right through
Seeping in as dark as night!
The water under my bridge.
Has been slowly rising since.
Now we've hit the point my friends.
Where we gotta call it quits.
Bridge:
I know that life may not be perfect.
Not great for you or me.
But you gotta understand
That I'm living in misery
I know that you are lonely.
But friends will come sometime.
It may be too late for me
Just do not let them pass by...
Chorus:
Now there's cracks in the sidewalks!
The sidewalks of my life.
The grass has grown right through
Seeping in as dark as night!
The water under my bridge.
Has been slowly rising since.
