Early Morning Skies
Today i walked through a field of damp grass.
Letting the dew from the early morning kiss my bare feet.
I ran and danced even as the wind picked me up and lifted me inches from the ground all i could do was laugh. And continue my joyful prance. The sky was beautiful in all its vibrant colors. And the clouds were my audience applauding me as i swirled and dipped.
My hearts steady thump slowed.
And my smile died when i found myself face down on the gritty pavement.
My knees were scraped and my elbows were cut.
As tears stung the back of my eyes,
I tried to hold back the sob that began to claw at my throat.
Reality finally set in and the tendrils of my fantasy unwrapped themselves from the depths of my mind.
Leaving me alone to wipe the snot from my nose and the tears from my eyes.
I was alone. Always alone.

I tried to hold back the sob that began to claw at my throat.

Leaving me alone to wipe the snot from my nose and the tears from my eyes.
I was alone. Always alone.
