OVERTURE TO GEISHA
(Imaginative, written under influence of memories of TV series "Shogun".)
Can you give a tired man,
A stranger in Japan,
(A storm-bound Englishman)
Not of a shogun clan,
Who’s toiled till his sweat ran,
The love a woman can?
Raise his attention span
With a treat, of your plan,
Teasing him with your fan.
Let his eyes on you scan,
While you admire his tan?
(Your own face seems so wan.)
Give me your answer, ‘san,
O, geisha courtesan,
If on us there’s no ban.
