A Childs Fear

No matter how different
we are from them

No matter how brillent
we want them to think us a jem

Even if we say "I don't care"
it's just a lie

We want to catch their smiling stare
or if not we hide and cry

We strive to make them proud
doing all we can to gain their grace

But what of deaths shroud
when it takes them from this place.

Standing over his gave I can't help but wonder
do i give his soul pride

Does he think my life is a blunder?
would he walk with my stride?

Now I hide who I am
knowing they can't take it

Not letting them no Im a sham
can they know the truth? I can't stake it

No matter how true I am to myself
I still want their praise to be near

So I can't unveil my true self
yet still hold onto a childs fear
