Elusive?
Within the tales of experience
the annals of human existence
a common story is found
of that lover just beyond reach
For some it is always to be
always wanting what can't be had
might be a trend in travels
archetype for lover that has no interest
despite the plethora of pinning
Creates frustrations, maybe havoc
an invitation for movement
and yet that same turmoil
provides the impetus for creation
May we all keep in mind what Chrissy crooned
such a thin line between love and hate
or at that destination do find
nothing redeeming about the wait
It may be money, time, attitude adjustment
prestige, esteem of others
but same conclusion
there is always some cost
"I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps."
(Not that anyone doesn't already know, but lyrics are courtesy of George Harrison)

I was struck on the spur of the moment by the use of the paradox in literature, both songs and other writings...
Weeping I actually like, since any other time I end up breaking a string! (laugh)

I like the way you put your storyline, that no matter how elusive someone is, if you do something like attitude adjustment at some cost, there might be hope...until then you are still in despair. So true and sad for you haven't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, but don't lose faith because you got what it takes; it's just a matter of time...(just sayin')

I can't say this is totally autobiographical; after trying to run a marathon I realized the fleeting nature of most events that come our way.
I just keep true to what Sir Paul said, "Only Love Remains".

It's also true that as long as love remains in your heart nothing could go wrong, for where Love is, there is [God]...just keep the faith and keep on hoping!

Love the "Weeping Guitar" by George Harrison.
You put words to the ache we all have experienced...he loves she...but she does not return the affection...she loves he...but he is not that into you....This may be the world's oldest song. Great poem...much enjoyed.

Thanks; for many reasons, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", is a very memorable song for me.
I am honored to have your comment.

Great read Jazz, enjoyed. Far better having this song running thru my head today instead of hall and Oates. ;)

Then I guess I won't update you as to what Daryl Hall is doing these days...
Not sure if you saw it but when Harrison was placed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Prince did a pretty nice solo on the song. He acted a bit odd after his part was over however.
