A Story of Love
She smiles, a pretty smile it is. Gold inside her beating heart,
young and beautiful, smart and playful.
Cherishing even the most challenging of all her times.
Her young age brings a boy, beautiful to her eyes he is.
Lust becomes love, easily it does.
His words a sound wonderful to her ears, perfect sound.
He holds her, she never wants to leave his safe arms.
Trouble will not find her there.
No danger ever did find her there, for she was safe.
Soon his touching became more daring, she wanted it.
His wonderful touch.
His words became more dirty, even more insulting.
His touch more painful, more brutal, more sexual.
She loved him, but she was horrified.
She knew she could not leave, but she should.
More time he needed, he loves her truly.
She saw his love before.
She still wanted him, his love and protection.
Her bruised face covered in makeup.
Long sleeves she wears.
Cuts on her arm would give her away.
The world will not understand, but she does.
She knows he loves her.
She knows he loves only she, even in his eyes.
His touch now brutal, turns to sex.
"No," she says.
He does not stop, not for her.
She cries, tears down her face.
Night fades in tears.
She has lost everything now.
She tells him she wants him no more.
Anger on his face.
Bruised she now is like never before.
Hospital, police. She defends him.
Love him she still does.
But no more will she be with him.
She smiles, a broken smile it is. Coal inside her heart.
Young and beatiful, smart and broken.
Hating the most challenging of times, love she now fears.
