Stand still

Every path chosen led to the same door.

Frozen in place
Time ticked on.

Sunsets painted diamonds against
Velvet canvasses,
The wind whipped and screamed,
Leave now or forever be stuck in standstill.

No right choices
Each ends the same.

Maybe frozen in place isn’t so bad after all....

She still has the stars
The time
The minutes as they tick by
The wind...

At least there is that.

She still has
A handful of empty dreams

a room full of boarded up memories..

Notebooks stained with heartache
And a collection of half full
Vladimir bottles...

And

Time

As it ticks on
Leaving her with nothing
more
but the doors she closed
and too many wished on stars.
