Sun Beam
I laid my spinning head against your chest
Heard the gentle
Thump
Thump
Of your heartbeat.
With every thump my sorrow melted.
My soul screamed
And you silenced it
Fingertips stroked the back of my neck
And tension was released in sighs.
I fell asleep to you gentle breathing
And awoke to the comfort of your arms.
I returned to storm clouds...
Hollow chested
I miss you.....
So I build walls to hide my losses
A gentle cover-up to ease the pain.
You were the stone I leaned against
When I became unsteady.
My morning sunbeam
You danced upon the tiny shards of my heart
And pieces fell together.
You took away the chill
And ceased my falling tears.
Oceans calmed
Skies at rest
I miss you.
Heard the gentle
Thump
Thump
Of your heartbeat.
With every thump my sorrow melted.
My soul screamed
And you silenced it
Fingertips stroked the back of my neck
And tension was released in sighs.
I fell asleep to you gentle breathing
And awoke to the comfort of your arms.
I returned to storm clouds...
Hollow chested
I miss you.....
So I build walls to hide my losses
A gentle cover-up to ease the pain.
You were the stone I leaned against
When I became unsteady.
My morning sunbeam
You danced upon the tiny shards of my heart
And pieces fell together.
You took away the chill
And ceased my falling tears.
Oceans calmed
Skies at rest
I miss you.
