"Beyond The Same Clear Skies"
As a child
I would watch from my bedroom window
perched on my bunk bed
I would gently sketch
the tops of houses
the sunsets
the clouds
the skies.
Years later I view the same skies
from a older,
wiser perspective
together we survey this
great canopy the sky
except your somewhere else
we are together alone
i miss you.
Beyond clear skies
I am mesmerized in skies of majestic splendor
I see the universe for what it is
I see an expanding mass
I see flickering embers of fading light
a rubber band waiting to snap
as time and space collapse.
I see multiple and parallel realities
each containing a tantalizing
selection of infinite possibilities.
I see distant galaxy's and far off stars
maybe i should name them after you?
jet streams become paper chains
but its your eyes that bring me back.
Though miles apart
we remain connected
under the same clear skies.
...And many years ago
that same young child
still perched on his bunk bed.
he sketches the
the sunsets,
the clouds,
the skies,
.....and your smiling face.
