Whisky Whispers

What is it you seek,
Do you understand?
What is it you preach,
To grasp the upper-hand?

Time goes on. days pass by
you get so caught up, you can't close your eyes.
Its a fast life they say. Can take you from top to bottom
you don't know where to stop, yet the world keeps spinning
are you alone at the top?

Whisky bottle blues, take in another shot
bottles near empty, its what you've always been taught.
Reach for it. dig for it. scowl the empty nights
to retrace distant memories that make you think twice.

I yearned for adventure, I grew for the thrill
I emptied my bank account and now have a nil.
Bottoms up in a grungey old bar, cheers to your neighbor
and another shooting star.

Can't buy love, easy to find greed
nothing ever stops you from hiding underneath.
Layer upon layer until you are so far out of sight
try resting your eyes on another bended night.

Its easy to seek solace in the dark of the rain
but you never think to listen, your heading for fame.
Lonesome winter nights, dark twisted sights
your alone in this dungeon, there is no light.

Seek shelter with spirits, your Eyes are coherent
Never thought life would be so demanding.
Soul searching follies on a thick wooden chair
lost ones and family promised they'd always be here.

Eyes once blissful now so hazy
things turn for the worst, you start to go crazy.
Deeper and deeper, the voices are calling
screaming your name while they dance and they frolic.

You gave in to this night, choices weren't right
shits getting out of hand now, you have no more fight.
Please tell me the answers, be real to my soul
I have nothing left to give, as this story unfolds.

The end is here, I've made up my mind
ill dance with the demons and leave the world behind.
