The mortal’s prayer to the Goddess
You are a goddess among us mere mortals
I truly believe that the pain of me not knowing of your existence
Would be less than the torture you put me through every day
The torture that will burn my heart every day for as long as I live
For one no longer gazes at the stars the same way
After they have seen the moon
Now even the brightest and best star that presents itself to me
Is nothing compared to the moon that taunts me every day with its flawlessness
And that is your curse
I truly believe that the pain of me not knowing of your existence
Would be less than the torture you put me through every day
The torture that will burn my heart every day for as long as I live
For one no longer gazes at the stars the same way
After they have seen the moon
Now even the brightest and best star that presents itself to me
Is nothing compared to the moon that taunts me every day with its flawlessness
And that is your curse
