Confessional
Tell me father what would you do
If all the world turned in on you
If your priest became a beast
And you wish you (Or he) deceased
Tell me father of this faith
That’s supposed to conquer all
And save us from the fires of hell
In which we might yet fall
Guide me father what to do
When church and state conspire
To damn the youth who told the truth
Make innocence the liar
Would you hide your face away
Internalise your grief
Would you smile and say a prayer
In the false belief
That all the pain would go away
If daily you knelt down to pray
Whilst he who preys still walks free
To sin against another
As once he once sinned on me
Pray Father give me your blessing
For I have sinned
It's years since my last confession
Let me first surrender my pistol
Into your possession
You see I saw him with a youngster
A frightened little lad
I shot the father, father
I shot him and I’m glad
If all the world turned in on you
If your priest became a beast
And you wish you (Or he) deceased
Tell me father of this faith
That’s supposed to conquer all
And save us from the fires of hell
In which we might yet fall
Guide me father what to do
When church and state conspire
To damn the youth who told the truth
Make innocence the liar
Would you hide your face away
Internalise your grief
Would you smile and say a prayer
In the false belief
That all the pain would go away
If daily you knelt down to pray
Whilst he who preys still walks free
To sin against another
As once he once sinned on me
Pray Father give me your blessing
For I have sinned
It's years since my last confession
Let me first surrender my pistol
Into your possession
You see I saw him with a youngster
A frightened little lad
I shot the father, father
I shot him and I’m glad
