Deceit
I sinned against our child and you
And now the ache of painful remorse
Of course
To no avail
A common tale too little too late
Perversity overcame and damned me for the traitor
Who sang the silver song of love
In gardens scented with deceit
Of tales woven intricate replete
With subtle guise of gentle lies
Now am I sent
Spent
Banishment
From your gaze once loving
To reap my own deserved reward
My tears twin rivers of pain
Never to see you ever again!
And only I to blame
And now the ache of painful remorse
Of course
To no avail
A common tale too little too late
Perversity overcame and damned me for the traitor
Who sang the silver song of love
In gardens scented with deceit
Of tales woven intricate replete
With subtle guise of gentle lies
Now am I sent
Spent
Banishment
From your gaze once loving
To reap my own deserved reward
My tears twin rivers of pain
Never to see you ever again!
And only I to blame
