Requiem

Here's an early one for Valentine's Day.


I’m walking to the requiem
And on the wind I hear
A faint confession of love
I turn around, no one’s there

My thoughts of you pass by
Faster than I can move
But what I never had
I want, need, to lose

For all I see and feel anymore
Brings me back to a place
I promised I’d never return to
So I’ll quickly hide my face

And I’ll lose it on this day
When love is just a knife
That goes in far too deep
And overtakes my life

I’m walking to my requiem

A faint knell of lost love
Turn around, I’m not here
