I'm Not One Of You
Distance yourself from me, severe
our burdensome ties.
For I see not what you see
In unused heaps and heaps of gold.
Climb the next horse and speed away,
Remove yourself from my company,
For sooner or later i shall ask
of your every action "Why?".
Waste no time forgetting about me
erase your memories of me.
For if at all you find them pleasant
Then your memories tell a lie.
Stand from a distance and study my character,
Observe my few joys and sorrows,
See you not that your shame is my pride;
That my pride is your shame?
Away with you from my company!
Lest I transform into one of you.
