Never will I ever
I took the sun between my palms
and colored it blue for you
but never will I ever
Paint the stars
Their beauty is real, their beauty is true
Divine in the light they give
Pure and alluring
magical, pulchritudinous
what wonderful things they are,
the stars
shining, radiant
taking attention
from the inky blue sky
to the little jeweled dots
up there
where they live so free
I took the moon
and pressed it to my bosom
Giving my hearts warmth to it
but it really never could
let go of it's own
icy grasp
so I had to let it go
But still the sun is there
up there
the sun I took and
colored blue
just for you
But never,
will I ever
paint the stars
and colored it blue for you
but never will I ever
Paint the stars
Their beauty is real, their beauty is true
Divine in the light they give
Pure and alluring
magical, pulchritudinous
what wonderful things they are,
the stars
shining, radiant
taking attention
from the inky blue sky
to the little jeweled dots
up there
where they live so free
I took the moon
and pressed it to my bosom
Giving my hearts warmth to it
but it really never could
let go of it's own
icy grasp
so I had to let it go
But still the sun is there
up there
the sun I took and
colored blue
just for you
But never,
will I ever
paint the stars
