Scarecrow
Such a useless form
cheap Halloween custom
all tattered and worn
All battered and torn
from being nailed to a board
Hay-filled, and pest ridden
this lord of the corn
Sent to save the crop
a most unwitting crucifixion
Ah! To exist without conviction
No salvation, damnation,
death, or resurrection
Merely that of sweet
oblivion.

Interesting take on the lifeless (but not useless) scarecrow. Was baffled by "Hey-filled" (as in 'Hey, Man!') then realised you mean "Hay -filled".
