This Is Just A Dream

Blood splatters on the wall
Ligaments and tendons torn
Limbs ripped off
Skin cut in strips healing then rehealing
Moving, rearranging, twisting
Spelled into “I’m coming for you”
Cries silence the noisy mind
In which these images of hell occur

Silence comes with a price
One in which no one is keen on paying
The desperate do desperate things
Things like snapping their own necks
Only for it to crack back in place
But for a few seconds
It’s silent

I view these monstrosities
Above them I dangle
The deranged jump and howl
As if I’m some sort of prize
What will they get for capturing me?
To what measures will they go?
For just one millisecond of
Peace

Anger swirls
Knotting inside my stomach
Squeezing my veins like lemons
On a hot day in June
Milking me of my self control
Tempting with presence of insanity
But I refuse to succumb

I filter back into myself and look down
How is it that blood got onto my hands?
Whose blood is this?
Where did it come from?

I look down
There, in my hands
I wield a blade and hold something
Is…..is that someone’s skin?
What…..what am I spelling?
NOOO!!! NOOO!!!
I did not succumb
This is just a dream
This is just a dream
I am not one of them
This is just a dream
I am not one of them
