Turn A Blind Eye
She struck gold at sixteen
Wearing a crown before long
Her world was cast in artificial rain
Even if it was spinning upside down
She was busy applying makeup
Looking stunning with crimson nails
But the years kept holding out their hand
Even in silence she was not growing younger
Don't be consumed with petty needs
Today is better spent without television
Because time is not your friend
Cause your not immortal
Cause your not truly living
Cause your history is gone
Before long your giving back
Two beings they argue
But the clock is ticking away
We are dying the day we're born
Through the day, from dust to dawn
She'd rather find her lover
Than enjoy the simple things
But the problem is we never know
Until it's already gone
Don't be consumed with petty need
Your soul is not that far gone
You could make memories
Cause your not immortal
Cause your not truly living
Cause your history is gone
Before long your flying high
Cause the days go by
Cause your growing old
Cause your already reflecting
Before long your giving back
We like to believe we're infinite
We like to believe we're immediate
But we are not permanent
We are content with waging war
We are content with leaving our mark
But we are not permanent
The golden age is already gone
Honest intentions are already gone
Kurt and Layne's legacy is already gone
This life does not last
Cause we're not immortal, no
Cause time is not our friend, no
Cause our history is already gone
Before long we're old dust and bones
Wearing a crown before long
Her world was cast in artificial rain
Even if it was spinning upside down
She was busy applying makeup
Looking stunning with crimson nails
But the years kept holding out their hand
Even in silence she was not growing younger
Don't be consumed with petty needs
