Guardian Angel

Sleep comes easier tonight,
Now that blood is seeping
from my arm,
As my eyelids get heavier,
I feel like I'm finally
where I belong.

Just as I begin to slip
away,
I hear a voice in the dark,
"Why must you do this?
You're breaking my heart."

I fight to open my eyes,
When they are I see an angel,
I mumble weakly to her,
"I'm sorry I'm so unstable."

"Do not worry my child",
She said sweetly by my ear,
"I'm here for you now,
And there's nothing for you
to fear."

The angel wraps her arms around
me,
As I fade into my sleep,
She begins to mend my arm,
And quietly she weeps.

It feels as if I'm dreaming,
That she's holding me,
For it seems so unrealistic,
And very overwhelming.

When I finally wake up,
My angel is gone,
The open wound now healed,
As if nothing was wrong.
