restraint
double dipped into my goddess
tricked, to scratch itch daily
she fled the tomb early
leaving behind the scent
of her shadow
smelling
of the friction burn
between walk-through dreamland
and little lull
slept-on moments
as the days died on
she cleansed herself to polish
reglossed the goddess she
got a gig, a decent job
an apartment, fully furnished
jade plants, lavender, sage, aloe
a fridge full of the food that feeds people
the living kind
her whole abode
a harmony in exchanged energy
she scares me
her health
a spotlight
on the heavy memories
the ones that don't allow
escape
I avoid her phone calls
and flake on her invites
but
double back
to look outside her window
while she rests
tricked, to scratch itch daily
she fled the tomb early
leaving behind the scent
of her shadow
smelling
of the friction burn
between walk-through dreamland
and little lull
slept-on moments
as the days died on
she cleansed herself to polish
reglossed the goddess she
got a gig, a decent job
an apartment, fully furnished
jade plants, lavender, sage, aloe
a fridge full of the food that feeds people
the living kind
her whole abode
a harmony in exchanged energy
she scares me
her health
a spotlight
on the heavy memories
the ones that don't allow
escape
I avoid her phone calls
and flake on her invites
but
double back
to look outside her window
while she rests
