The Storm
A storm roams,
The thunder above,
The lightning flashes,
I worry.
Where are you?
You’re not in my arms.
I call you,
No answer.
The moon disappears,
The stars hide.
I’m scared,
I cry.
I need you,
I have to find you.
I go outside,
I get in the car.
I start the car,
Put it in reverse,
And hit the gas,
I’m on my way.
The street is dark,
The power is out.
The night is cold,
Another flash.
I see something,
But only for a second.
Another flash.
It’s an accident.
I pull over,
It looks like your car.
My heart stops.
I walk over to the wreck.
I see your limp body,
I try to save you.
Your last words,
I love you.
You’re last bit of strength,
You hold my hand.
You’re last breath,
Now you’re gone.
I can’t leave you,
I beg God to take me too,
Or maybe take me
For you.
He denies my requests,
I sit and cry,
Your hand in mine
My tears in the rain.
The thunder above,
The lightning flashes,
I worry.
Where are you?
You’re not in my arms.
I call you,
No answer.
The moon disappears,
The stars hide.
I’m scared,
