The outcast

In the mountains lay the tragedy
The worst beating ever recorded
Lashes after lashes
For the young girl who
Dared to challenge authority
Who dared to sleep with a man from another village
And there she lays by the roadside
Her face a twisted version of reality
Her eyes staring into nothingness
For her soul is empty now

There lays the girl from the village  Padang Bai
The dogs were sent to maul
An outcast sniffed for menstrual blood
Barred from entering the village gates

Ever

And there she lays
Her eyes gloss and saucer with nothing beneath
They are nuts without seeds
Or leaves without veins
For her blood is now within another being
From another village
And she is the outcast

The mountains have abandoned her
Even the rivers deny her water
Only the dogs chase her scent
Baring their gums and teeth
Growling their way into her soul
Tearing and mauling her
Until death

And now she is dead
She lay by the roadside
A fleshy meat in a baking sun
Smelling with menstrual blood

Wet is the earth
It's tears are the rivers
And the ground is red with her passing

The village has forgotten the girl
They called the rabid dogs to eat
As her spirit leaves the earth
She is outcast forevermore

What is an outcast
They lay by the roadside dead
Or on the outskirts of the village
Neither to be seen nor heard
The children crying
Their mother׳s constant agony
Abandoned by their own

A heart is a seed
It grows from within
Bearing the fruit
Fleshy and sweet

And she lay by the roadside
A fleshy meat in a baking sun
Remembered
