You Are You

We all have those moments
Where we fall to the ground
Broken and shattered
Like rain with the wind
Blown away, to the ground we fall

Take a step, show that you can take the risk
To those who break you down, show that you're still strong
To those who say they care, but only act, show that you're better for not lying
To those who are always there for you, show that you're there for them too
Never let them go, hold them tight, never knowing when they wont be there

It's okay
Okay to let your emotions free, sad, happy, angry, hyper, let it out, just in a good way
Sometimes, though, it's more than that, more to it, more to see
Some have lost, some have won, some are fighting, some are giving up
Then we all think, then there's me
Have I won?
Have I lost?
Am I fighting?
Am I giving up?

Me?
Is this me, my life, yet not in control, no say in what I do
A lifeless body walking around, wondering, searching, for what is the question
Take this body, strip away the soul, give it what I never had, already a better person
Fall to the ground, hit it hard, show that you have been strong, for just a bit to long

Ignore the world beyond
Lay there and smile, talk to the moon, hold hands with air, make a deal with death
The ground is the bed, soft as snow, cold as those who hurt you hearts
Lay there with no conscious of the world around you, confuse those who pass
Let them know you can not hear them, can not see them, just look up and slowly fall to the sleep you so desperately need

Remove yourself, lay on the moon, jump off the moon, fall to the earth, slow time down, take a step back
Steer time in the wrong direction, show it who's in charge, never let it go
Battle head first with death, show that you are strong

It doesn't matter if you win or lose
What matters is that you are you
