The End
Wrenching from my heart ,
A most anguished and piercing cry ,
Why did you leave,
Why did you die,
Laying in a coffin,
As the warmth seeps from your body ,
I hold your hand close ,
My body trembling in sorrow,
I know not why you were taken,
I know not why I was spared,
Had I know our days were numbered,
I never would have cared,
I would not have tried to love you,
I would not have even dared.
My heart is ripped in two,
They all kept from me your secret,
Our friends and family knew,
Our love was just beginning,
My tears run down my face,
Your doctor stands beside me,
His hands up in a prayer,
As everybody leaves,
Your coffin is closed up tight,
You are placed deep in the ground,
Your life is at an end.
A most anguished and piercing cry ,
Why did you leave,
Why did you die,
Laying in a coffin,
As the warmth seeps from your body ,
I hold your hand close ,
My body trembling in sorrow,
I know not why you were taken,
I know not why I was spared,
Had I know our days were numbered,
I never would have cared,
I would not have tried to love you,
I would not have even dared.
My heart is ripped in two,
They all kept from me your secret,
Our friends and family knew,
Our love was just beginning,
My tears run down my face,
Your doctor stands beside me,
His hands up in a prayer,
As everybody leaves,
Your coffin is closed up tight,
You are placed deep in the ground,
Your life is at an end.
