Death of Innocence
I watched a little bird die today
as he landed upon the grass to lay
When he first took off, I felt inspired
But I saw in his eyes, that he was tired
I heard his cry as he fell to his death
And saw his chest pound a final breath
I wept inside for the loss of such beauty
and questioned why god allows such cruelty
but in the end, I walked with no remorse
Because I know someday, we all follow this course
as he landed upon the grass to lay
When he first took off, I felt inspired
But I saw in his eyes, that he was tired
I heard his cry as he fell to his death
And saw his chest pound a final breath
I wept inside for the loss of such beauty
and questioned why god allows such cruelty
but in the end, I walked with no remorse
Because I know someday, we all follow this course
