Princess Louisa

Princess Louisa,
your secret entrance
lures me in on a slack tide;
my eyes watch for rocks
and tangled kelp beds
on my port side.

As you open up
into awesome splendor
my eyes look up to heaven;
snow capped peaks loom
dark, cold and forlorn
yet I am welcome.

Harbor seals stare
as I approach the dock
calmly embraced in silence;
otter escape my approach
jolly gymnastic ghosts
leave me smiling.

Princess Louisa,
tomorrow we will meet
tonight I rest in your beauty;
blue green glacial waters
glow and gently gurgle
on my waterline.
