Intervention

I had every thing I wanted,

Everything and more,

But the fates had long decided,

I could live like that no more,

So they put you in my path,

The path I can’t ignore,

But how they knew you were the one,

The one that’s right for me,

I ask that question every night,

What is it that they see?

When you ask why I choose you,

My answer stays the same,

I cannot explain the heavens,

Nor would I like to try,

The fates had put you in my path,

An intervention so divine,

That were I not to have you,

I cannot say for sure,

But were it not for intervention,

My life wouldn’t be worth mention.
