You shouldn't have asked me

Going to write about how you are
The only one I would ever need to
Have with me. I would never write
About just how much you mean to
Me. Or how you made me need you.
Or, worst of all, how much I love you.

No way would I ever write in a poem
The way you lit up my life when I was
Lost in the darkness. The way you
Simply are my all in all. My everything.
I would never write a stupid love poem
About you sitting beside me in the
Morning and the way you speak to me.
The way you smile... no. I would never
Write a poem about that. Even for you.

I'd never write that poem for you.
Not even if you beg. I don't write
Sappy love poetry. I just don't. So,
Stop asking me for it. I will not
Write you a poem unless you
