Pray for Sunday

Your eyes glowing in city rain sidewalk night speak love to me.
They speak love to me.

Our romance in words bounces off the familiar audio backdrop hum, traffic sounds of downtowns
anywhere.
We could just be anywhere
and it is everywhere
with your kiss hunting eyes glowing on me.

Your eyes glowing and my heart on fire darling.

It's the way you smile coy at me.
The beast I know my man to be.
How they are both equally,
authentically,
He.
I need them both equally,
desperately.
We.

The cadence when you say to me
You're beautiful
can move the wind with the rhythm of hips,
the force of ships,
in storm.
You're beautiful
Losing your breath mid-sentence; I know the truth
in that one lost breath.

How the thought of you,
just the very thought of you,
inspires me.
Keeps desire alive in me.
Is demanding so I have to be
the woman who is me.
The woman god made for man like He;
this She.

We dip and flow.
We move gracefully.
We beat box cardboard sidewalk ghetto blaster on shoulder cool.
We opera and Yo-Yo Ma upper echelon sophisticated smooth love.
This thing, this We, is meant to be.
This love arriving suddenly.
This man is proof of god to me.

You and I and Sunday’s lover,
I do pray.
