crumbling
you’re deathly hollow.
but his private vampires
crouched at the foot of your bed
threaten to swallow
the remaining drops of your humanity
and their swollen bodies steal
meager food from a soul forgot
invite him in
let him consume the lingering, undead fragments
from your silent life
