Image for the poem Don

Don't

You try to hold me back as
the world is throwing daggers
at the weak spots in my body.

You grip my wrist and scream
at me to stop.

You beg, you cry, but I can't.

I will demolish this world and
all who try to take me down, even
if that means I must demolish you
as well.

You, my Dearest, don't cry for me.

I am the devil crammed into a small
woman's body, a truly cruel being who
only wants to hurt and cause pain.

Your tears are staining me.

I can't love you because love is something
that causes me and you pain.

I am too angry to feel anything but frustration
and pain.

I am a monster waiting to devour you
and all your happiness.

So don't love me, because I will demolish
you next.
