Repetition

Here goes just one more rhyme
One more way to waste my time
The time I’ll never truly know
All this time, and what to show?

Every day is a sickening routine
All that’s worth saying
Sleeping and waking
Dreaming, screaming

The only word I whisper is isolation
Cut off from this world, lost communication
And they all know I’m waiting here
But they can’t watch my dry tears

And once again, here I go
The record is repeating
Inhaling and exhaling
Sighing, dying

So I board up windows, lock the doors
Then write a masterpiece upon the floor
I’ll shout it out loud till I cough up blood
Then to my horror, it’s nothing but a dud

Another day, and it can’t stop
So tired of playing
Hoping and praying
Forgetting, contemplating

No one alive is as clean as I’ll always be
But I’m perfect for no one else but me
No one will remember that I occupied
This chair and rope that committed homicide

No more repetition to contend
Done with the waiting
Coming and leaving
Constricting, releasing
