When Others Say IDK

When you ask a kid
why he broke something,
he will most likely say,
"I don't know."

I notice this trend.
People do not
accidently do things
that are helpful
or constructive
or uplifting.

They have no idea
why they do things
that are destructive,
overwhelming,
and cruel as can be.

Why not accidently:
wash my car
fix my fence
sweep my floor
paint my house
walk my dog
water my garden
bring in my newspaper
or make my dinner?

Why is it that they
accidently always:
smash the window
break the TV
crush the dog
bust my pencil
shave my cat
puncture my tires
egg my house
torture my heart?

If you do not know
why you are doing something,
do not do it!

If you have not stopped
and thought
all the way
through this
before you
say it,
do it,
make it,
or throw it,
then put it back down
where you found it
and leave it
the fuck alone.

If you think
that someday
in the distant future
it may come
to the surface
that you
will have to explain this
and all you
are going to have
to say for yourself is,
"I don't know,"
then please,
do not do it.

Just do not
fucking do that shit
because it drives me
bat-shit-fucking crazy!
