Should I Tell?
I went to a wedding today
Happiness seemed all around me
But later I overheard the parents of the groom
Saying their love wasn't meant to be
But who are they to say how hearts should feel?
They did not speak up when the Father asked
If anyone present knew reason why this should not be
Only in secret when they thought I could not hear
How sad to think they wait for the end
When two young lovers have just begun in unity
I wonder when their children are born
Will they see things differently?
I wonder if none ever come, will they still be shunned?
What a shame to think this young couple may never know

If they felt it in private, it will come out in how they treat that couple. This is who emotions are, they reveal themselves eventually in subtle ways. If they told you, even in your overhearing, they will eventually tell their grandchildren to be..and that will create all havoc. Flawless meter.

No, keep it to yourself, like they did. It's no one's business anyway! The world is viewed through different lenses, subjectively, with bias and otherwise. One man's scrap is another man's treasure. Great piece P-man!

Obviously you didn't say a word but i sure wish those parents did along time ago... i wish mine did I'm sure i wouldn't have listened but least it would have been thrown out there,good one poetryman enjoyed!

Why tell? People will usually want to learn from their own downfalls verses learning from other people's opinion. I, unfortunately speak from experience. Great read as usual Poetryman!
