You make the movie before it’s seen
Up there on the silver screen.
(A ‘fortnight’ later it is born
From the act of love that went before.)

You make the movie with a team
That’s within you and unseen.
They are there at your command
And wait for you to raise your hand.

They are you and you are they
You’re more than just friends, in this way.
You work together as a team
To weave the magic of this dream.

It is a dream, yet it is real –
A movie reel that’s the real deal.
(We can neither beg, borrow, nor steal
But only ‘ask’ to seal the deal.)

If there’s consensus, you will know
By the way your feelings flow.
Poor decisions you didn’t mean
Will show up later on the screen.

Watching dailies, day by day,
You’ll get better along the way –
Till the whole team shouts hip hooray --
And your movie is a hit to stay!

If a great movie you would make or see,
Direct your thoughts accordingly
To what feels good.  Nothing less
Will guarantee you a success.

As you direct your thoughts and dreams,
That’s your direction to your team.
They will produce the like of that,
Whether you say dog or cat.
(They’ll play the tenor of how you feel,
Whether you call jig or reel.)

In spite of how it might appear,
No other party can interfere.
The director is on the spot
And, with his team, he calls the shot.

As director, you also act
In your movie –- and that’s the pact.
Each co-star is director too
In their own movie -- starring them, not you.

As actor/director, you will grow --
With parts and movies as you go.
