Oh, JJ.... I was expecting a grand poem, but sadly I see it was just a simple statement for the victory of our president once again...

Well, sorry to disappoint you Jess! I just wanted to say something simple after all of the politics that has been swirling about. I get very caught up in politics and when I get on my soap box I can be quite ruthless. I thought about saying all kinds of terrible things about Republicans and gloating at the fact that President Obama will not be a ONE TERM President, but I decided to just say something positive and express how I felt. I may write something of a poem about it all, but for now I just want to absorb the happiness I feel for my President and my country!

It does not surprise me that those who hate Obama will express cynicism in an attempt to nourish the hypocracy for another 4 years. It is really quite hard for me to hold back my feelings on so many levels, but I really just want to feel the serenity of the moment and not go on a judgment casting spree. For the moment, it is enough for me that President Obama cares!

Please do elaborate on this death and destruction you speak of. The way I see it, President Obama is bringing an end to the death and destruction he was handed by GW. I'm a peacemaker myself, but even I understand the need to rid the world of the truely destructive killers among us. There is no way to end a war in an instint and it is no easy task cleaning up the mess that someone else spent billions of dollars to make. I don't know you that well, but it is my opinion that you are an anarchist who really seems to enjoy death and destruction, so perhaps you are angry because you won't be getting enough of your most desired soup.

I hope that you don't believe Mitt was going to bring peace to the world. On the other hand, I would like to see President Obama win yet another Nobel Peace Prize and bring the second war he was handed to a complete end...

Being in Australia, I wouldn't expect you to have any concern for who is President in America, but you voiced an opinion like you are an American. You are entitled to your opinions, but if you are going to blame death and destruction of someone, you might want to have some evidense to back it up. I asked a question, but you ignored the question and tried to divert away from it with a bunch of crap.

I don't know you, but your behavior is very predictable based on your numerous postings. I say you are an anarchist because you seem to enjoy creating chaos and discontent. I don't know if you really enjoy it, but you do it so often it can't be a coincidense. Maybe it's just because you are young and impulsive, but just go read your posts. Maybe it's too hard to see the forest for the trees. Maybe in 10 years you can come back and read all of your posts and see if you feel the same about them.

Your behavior is as predictable as a cat that doesn't want to take its bath. You scratch and claw to avoid the inevitable. You stir things up in the forums all the time. I don't know if it is on purpose or if you even realize you are doing it, but you must wonder why it is that you so often wind up in arguments with others. I believe it because that's how I view most Republicans. They see him as one of their own who would protect them at the expense of the middle class, poor and the minorities. That's how most Republicans roll, and since they comprise about 50% of the people, that's just how the numbers are going to crunch. But still, Obama beat Romney by more than 3 million votes and took several traditionally conservative states. If elections were just landslides, we wouldn't need them.  
 
What bothers me is not the closeness of the race, it is the greatness of the divide that made the election as close as it was. What I can't believe is how willing so many people are to hate, how gullable so many are to the lies that spew from the mouths of Repubs, be they politicians or pundents. Give a liar a radio show or a tv show and they sprad their lies like aides at an orgy.  
 
So I looked for the bright side, and I saw that in spite of it all, the majority of Americans could see through the lies and not allow hatred to consume them. It is moments like this I want to absorb because it gives me hope for the future of humanity!

I've never thought that and based on his desire to tax the rich there fair share, it is clear he is not. But then, maybe you have to live in our system and hear the daily rhetoric to really have a grasp on the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans are pawns of the wealthy and aspire to one day become powerful and corrupt control freeks. JJ

I never said anything about this being a Republic or Democracy. I was talking about Deocrats and Republicans as members of a political party. Whatever they are in comparison to the lable they wear, there are clear lines of distiction between the people and what each group believes in. There are moderates and extremists in every political party and whatever else kind of group humans form together, that is to be expected. Control freaks are everywhere. But when the control freaks have alot of money, they are called Republicans. I don't really care what you call our form of government, it's still a country divided by thr two largest parties are quibling over the samantics of forms of government is useless. I am glad my President has the same values as I do, and that's what the point of my post is. If you want to debate politics, there are forums for that. I do it aplenty there. I don't take insults from anyone, but when people come to my library and make personal insults, as Vegan did, I take that as a personal attack. In the forums it's just opinions, but the posts in peoples libraries should be commented on with a level of respect for the person who owns the library. It's not an open forum for debate. you are in someone elses home. That's what forums are for. If you don't like what someone writes in the forums then it's ok to debate the issue. If someone doesn't like what I, then tell me so. But if you want to debate an issue, go to the forums. If you don't like what I write, what the hell are you coming to my library to read for in the first place?
