Shiva Smiles
This blank page taunts me
as turmoil reaches its zenith
excuse me while I let it slip
through fingers clenched
around a quivering heart
lonesome and tired
wallow a while in pity
pull yourself together girl
All pervious points of reference
scatter like dust, in a
beam of light,
but doesn’t light also start from a point?
If only I could recall mine
Wry humor provides little relief
A vacant stare, fact
that I am far away
the playground of my mind
always to strong to resist
the tree house, the toy box
fairy tales and fantasies of old
now friend imagined, lovers lost
journeys never taken, and songs
that remain unsung,
to wake one morning
betrayed by your talents
and abandoned by your dreams
the blinding glare of reality
scorches the frail remanents
of your rosy picture
Shiva smiles
you have to crack the shell,
to reach the nut.
