Atone With...
At the edge of the water
beneath the tree
a Lotus awakens;
ochre petals spreading wide,
Its roots reaching
through the ground,
Its stalk stretching
towards the sky
sending Its radiance
in all directions -
swaying with the breeze,
neither resisting nor surrendering;
with focused awarness
It feels worms crawling
through the soil
like feathers across skin,
and ants marching with
elephants' feet;
It hears the sound of butterflies
fluttering with bats' wings,
the wind, a choir of angels
singing in the heavens;
It tastes the air - spices
bitter and sweet, sour and salty,
savory is the water
through which it grows;
It smells life all around,
a thousand petals breathe in
life and death,
happiness and sorrow;
It sees every atom and every star,
looks into the past and the future,
all while staying
in the present - in the moment.
At-oneness.
