Handmade Hell

We have to ask ourselves some questions
you know, like soul searching type questions
the kind of questions that we're afraid to ask
they're eating us up inside, right now
and until we address this cancer
it keeps eating, growing and spreading
year after year
eventually, a breakdown will occur
because certain questions need answers
unanswered questions will become issues
ignored issues love to wait it out
they just sit, plot and fester
we continually ignore
while they get bigger and bigger
then when we least expect it
they surround us like a gang of thugs
and kick our sorry little asses
hopefully, a miracle heals us
when the conscience is ignored
the soul feels neglected
joy will seem nonexistent
sanity becomes surrealistic
if we would just face up to harsh facts
learn how to deal with our issues
instead of ignoring, denying or running
we're experts at creating our very own hell
and the only way to ever experience heaven,
is when you destroy your personal hell
