Juggling Wolves
This must surely be madness
Murder
The sound of the 1 a.m. train
Bodies just below the surface
Of the mighty Hudson
The smell of coal and diesel thick
Whiskey tinged with their taste
And a moon
So full of possibilities
That one can’t help but smile back
Drunken jack-o-lantern smile
So many years ago
The madness growing inside me
The simple act of murder
So pure
Under that same moon
So full
So pure
Just a simple act
A rock in the pond of the past
Where all the bodies lie
Grinning an eternal smile
Surely this must be madness
Murder
The sound of the 1 a.m. train
Bodies just below the surface
Of the mighty Hudson
The smell of coal and diesel thick
Whiskey tinged with their taste
And a moon
So full of possibilities
That one can’t help but smile back
Drunken jack-o-lantern smile
So many years ago
The madness growing inside me
The simple act of murder
So pure
Under that same moon
So full
So pure
Just a simple act
A rock in the pond of the past
Where all the bodies lie
Grinning an eternal smile
Surely this must be madness
