displacement

he said, sometimes we displace our destinies by wrong acquaintance and association
i said, i built a wall around myself to protect myself while you hide behind a mask of indifference
but in the end, we both have to face it and deal with it,.
i remember how our paths were  crossed
like the branches on a vine.. like the lines on our hands
how we belonged together, just as much as our hands did
when intertwined together, held firmly to fill in gaps,
to hold hearts in traps..caged in love
i did not want to escape, i loved being loved
he said, do you think that if either of us acted upon any feelings towards the other, our relationship change?
he always went straight to the heart of it, a direct attack..a mirror of the soul
i said… nothing, but i knew that i was lying to my dying heart,
by not telling you that it beats just for you,
